KALKASKA WHERE MEDTAL HEALTH ISSUES DRUGS AND ALOHOL ADDICTIONS AS WELL AS SUICIDE IS A LAUGHING MATTER. TO MAKE THINGS WORST JUDGE MERTZ OF THE 46TH CIRURT COURT AND PROSECUTOR RYAN ZIEGLER BELIEVE FRIENDS AND FAMILY ARE OF NO RELIABLE TO BASE SOMEONES CREATURE FROM. THEY SAY, “THAT FRIENDS AND FAMILY WOULD ONLY SEE THE GOOD IN SOMEONE.” THEY BOTH LAUGH ABOUT THIS IN THE FACES OF THE PERSON ON TRAIL AND THIER FAMILIES DURING COURT.
THERE ARE NO PROGRAMS FOR HELPING PEOPLE IN ANY OF THESE AREAS WITHIN KALKASKA COUNTY. NO HELP FOR THE ONES HURTING AND SCREAMING FOR HELP OR FOR THE ONES THAT JUST QUIETLY OVER DOSE IN THE CORNER.
FROM THE CLERKS WHO CAN’T DO THE PAPERWORK CORRECT OR ON TIME. TO THE JUDGE THAT HIDES FROM THE TRUTH. ONLY BASES SENTENCES ON PLEAS FROM THE PROSECUTOR BULLING DEFENDANT’S TO TAKE A PLEA. MOST OF THESE DEFENDANT’S LACK OF UNDERSTANDING THE RAMIFICATIONS AND DETAILS OF THE PLEAS.
THIS LACK OF UNDERSTANDING COMES FROM INEFFECTIVE COUSEL FROM MANY OF THE LOCAL ATTORNEYS. THE TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE LOWER INCOME/EDUCATED AREA WE LIVE IN. THE ATTORNEYS WANT A QUICK PLEA FAST CASH AND MOVE ON TO THE NEXT CASE. NEVER PRESENTING A TRUE DEFENSE, ELEMENTS OF INVESTIGATION, OR ANY VIABLE DEFENSE.
THEN COMES THE PROSECUTOR FAIRLY NEW IN THE POSITION AND LOOKING TO PUT NOTCHES ON HIS BELT HARD FAST AND WITH LITTLE TO NO TRAIL CASES. PLEAS FORMED FROM FEAR AND MISUNDERSTANDING. HE PADS HIS CASES WITH LIES AND STACKS MANY CHARGES ON TOP OF EACH FOR THE SAME EVENT TO BULLING DEFENDANT’S INTO A PLEA.
OFFERING NO HELP FOR A BETTER FUTURE OR POSITIVE OUTCOME ONLY PUNISHMENT. DESTROYING FAMILIES, LIVELIHOODS, AND ALL CHANCES OF OUR COMMUNITY TO OVERCOME THE HIGH DRUG, ALCOHOL AND SUICIDE RATES WE FACE IN KALKASKA COUNTY.

What We Do
We are looking to track cases that have been heard in Kalkaska County Court systems with unfair and unjust outcomes or representation. Cases that were over sentenced, state and federal laws misused, pleas that were not given as agreed, ineffective counsel from your attorney, and the lack of viable defense and elements of investigation. By doing so we hope to bring awareness to the state attorney general to investigate and bring change to our county.
We are proud to be part of this movement to bring change to the ones who need to be defended legally. With just and fair outcomes but also to give the most productive outcome not just punishment. The hope is to bring programs into our county and made available to everyone in need of help. (understanding of their rights, drugs, alcohol, suicide intervention) no more punishment for all.
